Overview
IdealPhotonics' mid-infrared MIR photodetector, based on narrow-bandgap semiconductors (such as InSb and MCT) or pyroelectric materials, converts mid-infrared radiation into electrical signals through photothermal or photoelectric effects. It requires cooling (77K or thermoelectric cooling) to reduce noise, boasts a detectivity >10¹⁰ Jones, and is suitable for gas analysis, thermal imaging, and military reconnaissance.High-sensitivity detection of molecular fingerprint regions, but cooling requirements limit portability.
