Overview
IdealPhotonics' thermal infrared light source is an incoherent light source based on blackbody radiation or semiconductor heating principles. It generates continuous spectral radiation in the 2–20 μm mid-to-far infrared band (peak wavelength follows Wien's shift law) through thermal excitation, providing highly stable, broadband illumination for infrared applications relying on molecular vibrational absorption, such as gas detection, thermal imaging, military camouflage, and materials analysis.Based on the thermal radiation effect, it outputs a continuous spectrum covering the mid-to-far infrared (without laser coherence). Temperature control technology (such as PID regulation) achieves stable radiation intensity (fluctuation <1%). It features a simple structure, requires no cooling, and is compatible with all wavelengths, but has a relatively low power density (<10 W/cm²), making it a key radiation source for passive infrared systems, FTIR spectrometers, and industrial heating.
