Overview
Idealphotonics' has launched a 600-700nm VCSEL diode. 600-700nm VCSELs are an important branch of visible light lasers, suitable for biomedicine, displays, and sensing. However, due to limitations in material physics, their efficiency, thermal stability, and manufacturing difficulty are higher than near-infrared VCSELs. In the future, GaN-based VCSELs and novel DBR designs may drive further breakthroughs in this wavelength range.AlGaInP/GaN material systems face challenges related to DBR reflectivity and efficiency. They suffer from low electro-optic efficiency and high threshold current, but are irreplaceable in the visible light band. Suitable for biomedicine, displays, and 3D sensing, but require optimized thermal management. In the future, GaN-based VCSELs and novel DBR technologies may drive further development in this wavelength range.
