Overview
Idealphotonics' terahertz (THz) sources are devices that generate electromagnetic radiation in the 0.1–10 THz range (corresponding to wavelengths of 30 μm to 3 mm). Based on electronic methods (such as frequency multiplication chains), optical methods (such as photoconductive antennas), or thermal radiation mechanisms, these sources bridge the “terahertz gap” between microwaves and infrared, and are dedicated to emerging applications such as non-destructive testing, security screening, 6G communications, and molecular spectroscopy.Provide milliwatt-level narrowband or broadband THz output through nonlinear frequency conversion (such as optical rectification) or quantum cascade transitions, combining strong penetration capability (non-ionizing) with molecular fingerprint spectral recognition. However, they are still limited by relatively low output power (μW–mW) and efficiency (<1%), making them core components for THz imaging and ultra-high-speed communication applications.
