Overview
IdealPhotonics' mid-infrared free-space isolator is a non-reciprocal optical device specifically designed for the mid-infrared band (2.5-5μm). Through magneto-optical effects (such as Fe:ZnSe crystals) or polarization modulation mechanisms, it achieves unidirectional transmission of laser light in this band (low-loss forward transmission, high-attenuation reverse blocking), effectively protecting mid-infrared laser sources (such as quantum cascade lasers and optical parametric oscillators) from back-reflected light interference or damage.Using special magneto-optical materials (such as Fe:ZnSe) and heat-damage resistant coating technology, it achieves high isolation (>35dB) unidirectional transmission in the 3-5μm mid-infrared band, while also possessing 10W-level power tolerance and stability in harsh environments, becoming an "optical shield" for precision systems such as quantum cascade lasers.
