Overview
IdealPhotonics' PSD position sensor detector is a spot position detection device based on a continuous resistive layer. It measures the distribution ratio of photocurrent on the resistive layer to output the one-dimensional or two-dimensional position coordinates of the spot in real time (X-axis for linear PSDs, X/Y axes for area PSDs). Using Si or InGaAs materials, it covers the visible to near-infrared band, achieving micrometer-level resolution. It enables continuous position tracking without mechanical scanning and is widely used in laser alignment, atomic force microscopy, and industrial automation control.It offers continuous position detection (non-pixelated) and high linearity (<1% error), but requires calibration of the resistive layer uniformity to maintain accuracy.
