Overview
IdealPhotonics' praseodymium-doped fiber ASE light source is a broadband light source based on the principle of spontaneous emission amplification (ASE) of praseodymium ions (Pr³⁺). By exciting Pr³⁺ ions in fluoride or sulfide optical fibers, it generates incoherent broadband light output (bandwidth > 50 nm) in the 1300-1600 nm band. It provides a low-cost, high-stability broadband light source solution specifically for O-band (1310 nm) communication, specialized fiber optic sensing, and spectral analysis. It achieves high flatness (fluctuation < 3 dB) broadband output in the 1300-1600 nm band (covering the O/E/U window), enhances Pr³⁺ luminous efficiency through a fluoride fiber matrix, and features low coherence (coherence length < 1 mm) and a cooling-free design. It fills the gap in the short-wavelength region of traditional erbium-doped light sources and is suitable for upgrading legacy communication systems and distributed fiber optic sensing.
