Overview
IdealPhotonics' optogenetic patch cord is a flexible optical cable used to connect light sources (lasers/LEDs) to implanted fiber optic components. Through low-loss optical fibers (such as multimode quartz) and standardized interfaces (such as SMA905), it achieves efficient transmission of photostimulation signals while maintaining compatibility with free animal movement, serving as a crucial optical path hub for optogenetic experiments.Parameters such as transmission wavelength range (e.g., 470-630nm), optical loss (<0.5dB/m), interface type (SMA/FC), bending resistance (>100,000 cycles), and torque tolerance (>0.5N·m) directly determine the transmission efficiency of photostimulation signals and the reliability of free-behavior experiments.
