Overview
Idealphotonics' has launched a praseodymium-doped fiber amplifier, a fiber amplifier based on the energy level transition of praseodymium ions (Pr³⁺). Excited by 1017 nm or 1047 nm pump light, it achieves low-noise amplification of signal light in the 1300-1350 nm band (O-band), specifically designed to compensate for short-wavelength communication windows not covered by traditional EDFAs.Achieving 10-20 dB gain in the 1310 nm communication window (O-band), it overcomes the inefficiency of praseodymium ions in traditional silica fibers through a fluoride fiber matrix, filling the short-wavelength gap not covered by EDFA/C-band amplifiers. It provides critical amplification support for upgrading legacy G.652 fiber systems and special sensor networks.
