Optical fiber needle

Overview
IdealPhotonics' fiber optic probe is a miniature optical interface device for in vivo neuroscience research. It uses a fiber optic probe (200-400 μm in diameter) implanted in the brain to transmit optical signals (e.g., optogenetic stimulation) or collect fluorescence (e.g., fiber optic photometry). It combines mechanical strength with biocompatibility, supporting free-behavioral experiments.Parameters such as core diameter (e.g., 200/400 μm), numerical aperture (NA 0.2-0.66), implantation end-face treatment (flat/oblique cut), biocompatibility (e.g., PEEK coating), and light transmission efficiency (>80%@target wavelength) directly determine its optical manipulation precision, signal acquisition efficiency, and tissue damage control level.
