IdealPhotonics' MCT (Mercury Cadmium Telluride) bias detector is an extremely weak light detector operating under high-voltage bias (>50V). It achieves a gain of >10⁴ through impact ionization and is used for single-photon counting and hyperspectral imaging.While offering ultra-high gain (>10⁴) and single-photon sensitivity, the increased bias noise and cooling requirements significantly increase system complexity.
