Overview
IdealPhotonics' multimode fiber optic patch cord is a short-distance optical interconnect component consisting of multimode fiber (50/62.5μm core diameter) connected to standardized connectors (such as LC/SC/MPO) at both ends. It supports low-loss (<0.5dB) multimode signal transmission and is widely used in short-range, high-bandwidth scenarios such as data centers and local area networks."Large-core multimode high-speed short-distance transmission" achieves low-cost, low-insertion-loss (<0.3dB) high-speed interconnects over 100 meters (supporting 10G-400G Ethernet) by optimizing the matching of the fiber core (50/62.5μm) and connectors (such as OM3/OM4 standards). This makes it the preferred solution for data center and building cabling.

Large-core fiber optic connectors offer excellent performance. Unlike the multimode fibers (50/125, 62.5/125) widely used in fiber optic communication systems, large-core fibers are typically used for transmitting higher laser power and operating in specific wavelength bands. Furthermore, due to their large core diameter and high numerical aperture, the uniformity and stability of light splitting in large-core fibers are subject to interference from various factors (such as laser mode and laser injection method). Building on years of foundational experience in high-energy laser transmission experiments and research into the reliability of military-grade components, we can now provide fiber optic connector products with core diameters ranging from 125um to 1500um, as well as large-core fiber products operating across the full wavelength spectrum.
