Its core function is to reveal microscopic information such as crystal structure, stress distribution, or the order of biomolecules by quantitatively measuring the birefringence properties of samples (e.g., retardation amount, fast axis direction).Based on the principle of polarization interference, it transforms the anisotropy of the sample (Δn·d/fast axis direction) into a high-contrast image, combining nanoscale phase sensitivity with quantitative analysis capabilities.
