Overview
IdealPhotonics' GaAsP photomultiplier tube is a variant of the PMT (Photocatalytic Converter) using a GaAsP photocathode. It extends the response to the ultraviolet-visible band (160-700nm) through III-V group semiconductor materials, achieving a quantum efficiency (QE) 2-3 times higher than traditional alkali metal photocathodes (peak QE > 40%). Its structure retains a multi-stage dynode design, and its gain and noise characteristics are similar to conventional PMTs. It is primarily used in ultraviolet fluorescence detection and plasma diagnostics.High quantum efficiency and low dark count rate in the ultraviolet band, but higher cost than standard PMTs.
