Overview
IdealPhotonics' newly launched photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is a novel type of fiber that guides light through a periodic arrangement of microstructured air holes. Utilizing photonic bandgap or refractive index guidance mechanisms, it overcomes the limitations of traditional optical fibers, enabling special optical properties such as cutoff-free single-mode and supercontinuum generation."Microstructure freedom determines new dimensions of optics." Through the flexible design of the air hole array, it breaks through the inherent limitations of traditional optical fibers, achieving disruptive properties such as cutoff-free single-mode, ultra-high nonlinearity (γ>100 W⁻¹·km⁻¹), or broadband dispersion modulation. This provides a new optical field manipulation platform for fields such as quantum optics and ultrafast lasers.
