Electric actuator

Overview
In 2013, Idealphotonics' invented and patented a novel actuator technology—one that enables the manufacture of motors with extremely low moment of inertia, extremely high rotor stiffness, and maximum torque. This new technology was initially applied to our Saturn series optical scanners and has been widely adopted in industries such as laser displays, medical imaging, and autonomous vehicles. Over the past few years, customers who recognized the advantages of our scanners have inquired about the possibility of developing a continuously rotating version. Initially, this seemed difficult to achieve because our scanners are designed to maximize torque within the limited angular range involved in optical scanning applications. However, through extensive research based on computer models and the development of physical prototypes, we have successfully developed a continuously rotating motor with performance comparable to our optical scanners. A hallmark of this achievement is its extremely high acceleration capability—this motor technology can accelerate from a standstill to 120,000 rpm in just 1 millisecond (requiring only one full rotation)! This new "Sin-Cos" motor employs a sine-cosine drive and provides sine-cosine position feedback. When used with our Mach-DSP servo drive, it enables rapid point-to-point motion in any direction and angle within a 360-degree range. It also supports bidirectional continuous rotation and can operate at extremely low or high speeds. Although the prototype has been successfully developed and its operating principle has been validated, we are not yet launching a "standard" product to the market. Instead, we are seeking customers and partners who can benefit from this new motor technology, whose size and performance can be tailored to specific needs.
