    These 2x2 polarization maintaining (PM) fiber couplers are designed for 460-2200 nm, with selectable coupling ratios of 50:50, 75:25, 90:10, or 99:1. The 2x2 coupler is bidirectional and can be used for separating and mixing signals (see 2x2 coupling example label). Polarization maintaining couplers are made using panda shaped polarization maintaining fibers, so they can maintain a high polarization extinction ratio (PER) when light is emitted along the slow axis of the fiber. As shown in the figure on the right, the stress rod is parallel to the fiber core and applies stress, generating birefringence in the fiber core to achieve polarization maintenance. Typical applications of polarization maintaining couplers include optical sensors, optical amplifiers, and fiber optic gyroscopes.

    TDLAS (Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy) is a new gas detection method developed based on the combination of a diode laser and a long optical path absorption cell, utilizing the wavelength modulation of the laser through the characteristic absorption region of the measured gas. The semiconductor laser source used in TDLAS technology has a spectral width much smaller than the gas absorption line broadening, resulting in single-line absorption spectra, making TDLAS a high-resolution absorption spectroscopy technique. Nitrous oxide (N2O), also known as laughing gas, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula N2O. It is a hazardous chemical, a colorless gas with a sweet odor, and acts as an oxidizing agent that can support combustion under certain conditions. However, it is stable at room temperature and has mild anesthetic effects, causing laughter in some cases. When nitrous oxide enters the bloodstream, it can lead to oxygen deprivation, and prolonged inhalation can result in high blood pressure, fainting, and even heart attacks. Long-term exposure to such gases can also cause anemia and damage to the central nervous system.
