980 nm high-performance selected cutoff single-mode fiber has been optimized for use by component manufacturers at telecommunications wavelengths. These application specific optical fibers were developed for the independent transmission of pump diode tails, components, and couplers. 980 nm fiber provides 80 μ m and 125 μ m overall dimensions, excellent uniformity, tight tolerance core/cladding concentricity and the second mock examination cut-off specifications. These fibers are designed for applications with smaller bending radii, including miniaturized fiber optic packaging. These high-performance specifications can achieve excellent strength, higher component reliability, higher output, and reduce component manufacturer costs. The XP version provides strict tolerance specifications for more demanding applications.
