Interference type single-mode micro nano fiber sensor
Micro nano fiber optic sensors have the characteristics of small size, flexible structure, and strong transient field. Based on the measurement of the refractive index of the surrounding liquid, they can detect subtle changes in biochemical components. The reported micro nano fiber refractive index sensors include grating type, resonant type, etc. We have achieved several types of interferometric micro nano fiber refractive index sensors through structural design and optimization, which have the advantages of high refractive index sensitivity, low temperature sensitivity, and low production cost. Research progress in interferometric micro nano fiber sensors includes high birefringence micro nano fiber ring sensors, cascaded long-period grating sensors, and micro nano fiber interferometric sensors based on single cone structures. By designing and optimizing the geometric structure of the interferometer, a refractive index sensing sensitivity of 104 nm/RIU has been achieved, providing an optional solution for the development of low-cost and high-sensitivity optical biochemical sensors.
